How to be Powerful During Challenging Times

Friday 26th June - Saturday 27th June, 2020

This event was created to provide 2 Days of Inspiration and Empowerment.

The theme is "How to be Powerful During Challenging Times".

We have all experienced an unprecedented lockdown and we have seen the protests and riots following the killing of George Floyd, so we want to take this time to empower our community. This event is aimed at Black Boys and Young Black Men aged 10-25 years old. As with all of our events Parents, Grandparents, siblings and those who want to make difference to this generation are welcome. We know that it takes a village to raise a child.

This event had Inspirational Speakers, Coaches and Mentors who are passionate about Black Boys, young Black Men and the Black Community. There was workshops and mindset sessions to empower you as we come out of the lockdown.

There are 4 main objectives to our events:
  1. We want to provide Black Boys and young Black Men with inspiration and clarity of purpose.
  2. We want to give organisations that are doing great work with young people a platform to speak and showcase what they do.
  3. We want to connect these organisations together so that they can provide an even stronger provision for those that need it.
  4. We want to give Black Boys and young Black Men access to these organisations so that they can provide them with continuing mentorship, apprenticeships or whatever support they need post event.

Our events include inspirational talks, workshops and sessions from people who know how to engage young people and their parents. Topics range from building mental resilience, improving relationships between fathers and sons, mental health, support with children who are about to be excluded or are excluded from school, support with children who are involved with gangs, stop & search, advice for parents and many more topics.

So that Black Boys, young Black Men, their parents and those who support them get the mental, physical and emotional support they need.
